How to play Powerball
Lottery FM does not sell tickets — this is how the game works wherever you buy one.
Powerball is played by selecting five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball from 1 to 26. Tickets cost US$2 per game. Draws occur Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Division 1 (all five numbers plus Powerball) wins the jackpot (minimum US$20 million, typically much higher). Nine divisions reward winners matching various combinations: five numbers without Powerball, four with Powerball, four without, three with Powerball, three without, two with Powerball, one with Powerball, and Powerball alone. A winning ticket is claimed in the state or jurisdiction where it was bought, through that jurisdiction's own lottery — not through MUSL. Claim periods vary by jurisdiction, typically 90 days to a year from the draw date.

How are the prize divisions calculated?Only Division 1 (the jackpot) shares a percentage of the prize pool — with more winners the per-ticket share drops, with fewer it rises. Divisions 2 through 9 pay fixed cash amounts set in advance, no matter how many tickets win that tier. California pays every division pari-mutuel by state rule.
