NZ Powerball is drawn Wednesday and Saturday, piggybacking on the main Lotto draw. Players use the same six main numbers from 1 to 40 plus the Bonus Ball, with one additional Powerball selected from 1 to 10. Powerball tickets cost NZ$1.50 per line — a NZ$0.70 Lotto selection plus a NZ$0.80 Powerball selection. Seven prize divisions reward winning combinations. Lottery FM publishes each Powerball result within minutes of the official draw, with every division, the winner count and the prize paid. Division 1 has not been won for 10 draws+.

NZ Powerball requires the same six main numbers from 1 to 40 used in the main Lotto draw, plus selecting one Powerball from 1 to 10. Tickets cost NZ$1.50 per line — a NZ$0.70 Lotto selection plus a NZ$0.80 Powerball selection. The Bonus Ball drawn for Lotto also applies to certain divisions. Draws occur Wednesday and Saturday. Division 1 requires all six main numbers plus the Powerball. Seven divisions reward combinations including five main numbers plus Bonus and Powerball, five main numbers with Powerball, four main numbers with Bonus and Powerball, and lower tiers.

What's the minimum jackpot?NZ$4M — when no Division 1 winner is found, the prize rolls into the next draw. The largest historical jackpot for Powerball was NZ$55M (Nov 2025, Must Be Won).
How are the prize divisions calculated?Each division pays a share of the prize pool based on the number of entries matching that tier. With more winners in a division the per-winner amount drops; with fewer winners it goes up. Division 1 is reserved for entries matching every main number plus the Powerball.
