NZ Lotto is played by selecting six numbers from 1 to 40; a seventh number, the Bonus Ball, is then drawn at random alongside them, not chosen by the player. Tickets cost NZ$0.70 per game. Draws occur Wednesday and Saturday. Division 1 requires all six numbers to match, paying an advertised NZ$1 million prize pool that is shared equally between winners if more than one ticket wins it — unlike Powerball and Strike, an unclaimed Division 1 pool does not carry into the next draw. Divisions 2–7 reward winners matching five numbers with the Bonus Ball, five matched numbers, four matched numbers with the Bonus Ball, four matched numbers, three matched numbers with the Bonus Ball, and three matched numbers.
