Lotto 6/49 is Canada's longest-running national lottery game, drawn every Wednesday and Saturday. A C$3 play buys one Classic selection of six numbers from 1 to 49 plus a 10-digit Gold Ball draw number. The Classic top prize (Division 1) is fixed at C$5 million for every draw — it does not grow from one draw to the next — and seven prize divisions pay down from it. The separate Gold Ball draw produces a guaranteed winner every draw, paying either C$1 million or the Gold Ball jackpot, which starts at C$10 million and climbs to a maximum of C$68 million.
Lottery FM publishes each Lotto 6/49 result within minutes of the official draw, with every division, the winner count and the prize paid. Division 1 has not been won for 2 draws.
Lottery FM does not sell tickets — this is how the game works wherever you buy one.
Lotto 6/49 is played by selecting six numbers from 1 to 49; a bonus ball is then drawn from the same pool, not chosen by the player. A C$3 play includes one Classic selection plus a unique 10-digit Gold Ball draw number, and draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:29:59pm ET (11:29:59pm Atlantic time). In the Classic draw, Division 1 requires all six numbers and pays a fixed C$5 million, shared if more than one play matches. The other six divisions pay five numbers plus the bonus ball, five numbers, four numbers, three numbers, two numbers plus the bonus ball, and two numbers (a free play). The Gold Ball draw is separate: one Gold Ball number is selected every draw, then a ball is drawn from a machine of 29 white balls and one gold ball — a white ball pays C$1 million and is removed, and the Gold Ball jackpot grows by C$2 million; the gold ball pays the Gold Ball jackpot itself, which starts at C$10 million and can reach C$68 million. A winning ticket is claimed through the regional lottery for the province or territory where it was bought — British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Loto-Québec, or Atlantic Lottery Corporation — not from the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, which administers the game nationally. Claims must be made within one year of the draw date.
