About Lotto

Irish Lotto is Ireland's primary lottery. From 5 September 2026, players select six numbers from 1 to 45 (down from 47) plus one Bonus Ball, improving the odds of winning across every prize tier — the odds of winning any prize on Lotto alone go from 1 in 28.7 to 1 in 25.4 per line, and Division 1 (the jackpot) odds improve from 1 in 10.7 million to 1 in 8.1 million. A new Monday draw joins from 7 September 2026, so Lotto now draws Monday, Wednesday and Saturday — three chances a week instead of two. Jackpots still start at €2 million each roll cycle, though the jackpot cap is now €16 million. Lotto Plus 2's own top prize rises to €1,000,000, matching Lotto Plus 1, so playing Lotto with Lotto Plus now offers three separate chances to become a millionaire in every draw. Irish Lotto tickets cost €2 per game, with a minimum purchase of two plays (€4.00) — unchanged by this redesign.

Lottery FM publishes each Lotto result within minutes of the official draw, with every division, the winner count and the prize paid. Division 1 has not been won for 2 draws.

How to play Lotto

Lottery FM does not sell tickets — this is how the game works wherever you buy one.

Irish Lotto is played by selecting six numbers from 1 to 45 (narrowed from 47 in the September 2026 redesign) plus one Bonus Ball. Tickets cost €2 per game, with a minimum purchase of two plays (€4.00) — unchanged. Draws occur Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (a new Monday draw joined from 7 September 2026 — Lotto was previously Wednesday/Saturday only). Division 1 requires all six numbers for the jackpot, starting at €2 million each roll cycle and now capped at €16 million, with the Must Be Won rolldown still triggering at the fifth draw at cap. Eight divisions accommodate winners matching six numbers, five with Bonus, five without, four with Bonus, four without, three with Bonus, three without, and two with Bonus. Prizes roll into the next draw if there's no Division 1 winner.
