For Amritpal S., the discovery came through an app. The Surrey resident checked his ticket for Canada's Lotto 6/49 using the BCLC Lotto! Mobile app, and it held the Gold Ball jackpot from the Saturday, September 19, 2026 draw: C$32 million.
From a Surrey 7-Eleven to BCLC's Vancouver office
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), which announced the win, says the ticket was bought at the 7-Eleven on 152 Street and 104 Avenue in Surrey. On September 23, Amritpal completed his prize claim at BCLC's Vancouver office.
Whatever a ticket holds, check it against the published numbers (the full results for that Saturday's draw are on our September 19 Lotto 6/49 draw page, and the Lotto 6/49 results page carries the latest draws), then let the operator's own ticket check settle it.
It helps to be plain about the odds, too. A Gold Ball jackpot is a genuine long shot, and every draw is random. Selling this ticket doesn't make that 7-Eleven a lucky store: the win doesn't change the chances of any ticket sold there.
A ticket check rarely ends this way, which is simply what a long shot looks like. For one Surrey ticket in the September 19 draw, it ended at a claim office in Vancouver.
Play for fun, within a budget you set in advance. If gambling has stopped being fun, support is available through the problem gambling helpline for your province or territory — the Responsible Gambling Council lists every one on its Help for Canadians page.
Always confirm winning numbers, prize amounts, and deadlines with the official operator before acting on a ticket — the operator's published results are the only ones that count.
